The data science group within Leukocare is an international, agile, self-organized team that provides support to research and development (R&D) scientists and clients. We apply bioinformatics, biostatistics, and machine learning to address a broad variety of challenges that occur during biopharmaceutical drug development.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Developing software and machine-learning algorithms for internal use by scientists conducting biopharmaceutical formulation development
• Conducting molecular modelling analyses of protein / peptide biopharmaceuticals and small molecule synthetic drugs to identify stability risks and other molecular liabilities
• Providing scientific advice to support commercial activities such as project acquisition
• Supporting scientific publications and representing Leukocare at conferences
• Maintenance of high software standards, including dockerization, documentation, testing, CI and code review
• Supervision of bachelor's and master's students

Your Profile:

• Master's degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or a related field (PhD is a plus)
• Excellent skills in Python, pandas, and data analysis
• Software development experience (pull requests, ticket systems)
• Strong communication skills in English
• Collaborative mindset and experience in communicating with scientists to analyze experimental data; experience with protein science or biopharmaceutical development is a plus
• Experience in working within a cross-functional environment, with the ability to turn complexity into clarity during conversations with non-subject matter experts, is a plus
• Experience with docker and development of machine learning models is a plus
• Experience with molecular modelling visualization tools or molecular dynamics is a plus (CCG MOE, Schrodinger, PyMol, Gromacs)
• Motivated by working in a self-organized and independent fashion within an international and interdisciplinary environment
