Do you want to pursue a career in Production Management with the
potential to be a future leader (m/f) and role model for the employees at our
dairies? If you are excited by the prospect of working in state of the art
facilities, playing a key role in producing high quality dairy products,
this could be the start of your career at Arla.
What is it about?
Arla’s Production Management Graduate Programme is a 2-year entry
level programme in which talented graduates (m/f) can begin a leadership career
at our dairy sites. The programme will take you to 2 different European
production sites (Denmark, Sweden, UK and Germany) where you will
spend 18 months in your primary location and 6 months abroad.
We aim to recruit 6 talented graduates (m/f) in 2018. Primary site
locations as follows:
- 2 in Denmark (Holstebro – Butter/Cream Cheese)
- 2 in Sweden (Götene – Butter and Jönköping - Fresh Milk/Cream)
- 1 in UK (Leeds – Fresh Milk/Cream)
- 1 in Germany (Pronsfeld – Milk/Butter/Cream)
If you are wanting a career in Innovation or Research & Development, this
isn’t the programme for you. Instead, we are looking for the production
leaders (m/f) of the future who have strong analytical skills and are able to
perform in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
On-the-job training and a professional, tailored programme will introduce
you to an operational environment and to the wide range of challenges
we face in producing some of the world’s favourite dairy brands. You will
work in conjunction with our Site Directors and Middle Managers to work
on projects and to develop your leadership skills. You will solve complex
tasks and bring ideas to the management team for consideration and
decision-making. Some of your projects could include production optimisation
improvements, investigating problems and delivering solutions by
using lean tools.
Arla offers you individual training in leadership, strategy execution and
process facilitation to speed up your career and to nurture your talent. If you have successfully delivered the objectives of the programme by the end of two years, we will expect you to take up a permanent position.
As a minimum, we expect this position to be at manager level with a clear development plan to fulfil your potential.
Leadership ambitions and the ability to envision the future
Our Production leaders need to make quick decisions in response to
often unexpected complex situations. This way, it is imperative that you are a
fast learner (m/f), have strong analytical skills and are able to perform in a
fast-paced, challenging environment. As a potential future leader (m/f), you will
possess both empathy and the ability to challenge your colleagues. You
see yourself leading the way for others and developing high performing
teams at our production sites.
You will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably within Dairy or
Food Science/Technology but we would also welcome applications
from Manufacturing and Science (i. e. Microbiology) disciplines.
Applications from students (m/f) who are graduating in summer 2018 are also
welcome. You will have excellent grades on your exam papers and have
managed to complement your studies with work experience that links in
with your aspirations for the future. We are looking for the outstanding
leaders of the future, so we expect you to be hard-working and ambitious
but, to stand out from the crowd you will need to demonstrate your
leadership potential and a passion for creating the future of dairy.
Mobility is important not only for this programme, but also to Arla as a
wider business. We require you to be mobile and flexible as you will be
required to spend 6 months living abroad during the programme. Job opportunities could both be in our core and in our emerging markets after the programme. It is essential that you are fluent in English and ideally
speak one of either Swedish, Danish or German.
Please note the programme will begin in September 2018.
